The Black Vegetarian Society of Texas is holding a Walk/Bike-A-Thon Fundraiser on Sunday, May 29th.
The fundraiser coincides with Gene Baur’s Just Eats Tour, which stops in Dallas that weekend. Gene will speak at the event about his role as co-founder and president of Farm Sanctuary, celebrating its 25th year as a leader in farmed animal rights and advocacy.
This is an amazing opportunity to meet a true legend in the farm animal movement, as well as help support his cause.
The event is to raise funds for the BVSTx, an active community non-profit organization, by participating in the event and obtaining sponsors who will support you in your walk or bike ride.
Obtain sponsors by asking family, friends, co-workers, etc. to pledge their support by donating a specified amount of money for every mile you walk or ride around the two-mile circular course at Kiest Park.
The entry fee is $10 for BVSTX members and $15 for non-members.
Fundraising note for DallasVegan.com participants
The BVSTx has agreed to donate $5 of your entry fee to Gene Baur and the Just Eats Tour for all participants signing up from DallasVegan.com. Any funds raised on top of the $15 entry fee will be split between the Gene and the Just Eats Tour and DallasVegan.com in its efforts to organize the Texas State Veggie Fair (coming in October).
