Earthlings Screening at 1919 Hemphill

A note from the Relevant Film Project:

Relevant Film Project and 1919 Hemphill are holding their first double-feature event with the 2005 documentary EARTHLINGS (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0358456/) followed by Mercy For Animals’ short film MEET THE SURVIVORS (which chronicles the rescue of 4 baby calves being saved from slaughter).

Narrated by Joaquin Phoenix and Persia White, “Using hidden cameras and never-before-seen footage, EARTHLINGS chronicles the day-to-day¬†practices of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit.”

In attendance will be representatives of MERCY FOR ANIMALS (http://www.mercyforanimals.org/) and the BLACK VEGETARIAN SOCIETY OF TEXAS (http://www.bvstx.org/)

Our goal is to open the public’s eyes about the truth within the confines of corporate gain by means of animal pain.
The guest speakers will be there to answer questions and guide us through the process of understanding the work that can be done in order to help these defenseless creatures from being treated so viciously.

Event Itinerary:
- Opening statements from Relevant Film Project representatives
- Screening of EARTHLINGS (Run time 95 minutes)
- Mercy For Animals and Black Vegetarian Society representative commentary / light discussion
- Screening of MEET THE SURVIVORS (run time 12 minutes)
