Vegan chefs once again represented at the State Fair of Texas

It’s been two years since last a vegan chef was represented at the State Fair of Texas, but this year we’ll once again have the opportunity of sharing the message of plant-based diets with the typically carnivorous crowds visiting the fair.

Chef Toria Villarreal, who is currently working to open the new Vspot Café on Henderson avenue, will occupy a prime-time spot at the fair on Saturday, October 1st at 6:00 pm in the Creative Arts Building for their “Celebrity Kitchen” cooking demos.

With the continuing growth of the veg-scene in the D/FW area, it’s great to see this inclusion as a true representation of the dining options we have in North Texas. Hopefully, visitors to Chef Villarreal’s demo will see that vegan dining can be a healthy and delicious alternative to the animal product-laden foods most other chefs will display.
