Veg Events This Weekend – Food Trucks, Farm Animals, and More!

meetupAre you on No? You should be! is a great resource to find and meet like-minded individuals on a wide range of topics, including of course veganism and animals (check out for a list of Meetups and other Metroplex organizations).

This weekend brings us several fun events you might want to be a part of!

deftRallyFriday 6/22 – Deep Ellum Food Truck Rally

In the Vegan 101 Meetup, I’m hosting a group attending the Deep Ellum Food Truck Rally. A ton of trucks will make an appearance at the rally including the only two all-veg trucks in DFW, Good Karma Kitchen and Zombie’s Food Truck.

The event also includes live entertainment and drinks available from various pop-up bars throughout the neighborhood. If you have yet to experience the food truck sensation, here’s another great opportunity!

The rally is from 6:00pm – 10:00pm, but we’ll be meeting at 7:00. RSVP on the event page and let us know you’re coming!

Saturday 6/23 – Vegan Food Potluck

The Vegan Potluck Meetup based out of Fort Worth is holding their monthly fourth-Saturday potluck at the Westside UU Church in Fort Worth. Organizer Reverend Russ is a great guy and we hear the potluck group is an awesome bunch. If you live more towards the west side of DFW, here’s your chance to meet and greet with other veg-folk!

The potluck is at 5:00pm and you can RSVP on the event page here.

168831_10151164940050744_1981914896_nSunday 6/24 – Serenity Springs Animal Sanctuary Volunteer and Potluck

Have you been to Serenity Springs Animal Sanctuary (or any farm animal sanctuary for that matter)? If not, this is a unique way to get up-close with sweet, loving animals that have been given a second chance at life.

Vegan 101 is also hosting this Meetup at Serenity Springs to help the owner with some chores around the sanctuary, followed by a vegan potluck and great conversation with new friends. Do some good, love on some animals, eat yummy food, and meet new people – what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

The event lasts from 5:00pm – 8:00 – RSVP on the event page to let them know you’re coming and/or arrange for car pool (it’s a little out in the country!).
