Someone in Plano knows what “vegan” means?!

Too bad they don’t have any desserts.

wow, that’s awesome! nice to see more restaurants around here offering true vegan options off the menu.

kind of a stretch location-wise…i might be able to make it up there for lunch at work. let’s hope they can get a location closer to Dallas (assuming they’re any good).

  • Eddie G

Good call, James S! But it really is all about raising awareness in Dallas, right? So if the burger *stinks*, we’ll throw a *stink*, yeah? :)

We have a Counter here that folks are pretty obsessed with. I must confess that I was *not* thrilled with their veggie burger. Not thrilled at all. It was very bean-ie. Falling apart, sloppy — no structural integrity to the burger. And just too many beans for the bun. That said, I’m happy that you have somewhere with options. I did check the like provided, and one snarky grammar comment — they list “avocado’s.” What on earth do you suppose those little green yummies possess?

  • Eddie G

HYSTERICAL about the grammar error :D
So happy you noticed that, too!

And BOO for bean-ie burgers…sounds like MY miserable attempts at the homemade veg-burger!

so, i happened to be kind-a-sort-a in the area today and stopped by there for lunch.

First, let me just say that I was happy and would definitely go back. I got the veggie burger with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and jalapenos and a side of the barbecue sauce.

The veggie burger itself was interesting – I can’t really put my finger on what it tasted like (besides it just tasted good). It was kind of orange-colored, which was a little weird. It was a little mushy, and with all the toppings I got, was kind of hard to eat, but it really tasted good. I wonder if you asked for it well-done it might be a little more firm on the outside? I wouldn’t say it tasted bean-ie at all. It was nice that you could tell they are fresh made, as you could order a 1/3, 1/2, or 1# size, just like the burgers.

Oh, and while their nutritional menu says the wheat bun is vegan, the menu said “honey wheat”, so I’m a little suspicious as to whether or not any of the buns are truly vegan.

The fries were your everyday crispy seasoned fries, but they were pretty good.

The place also had a full bar, which would be nice if you wanted to have a drink with your meal.

Overall, I would definitely go back to this place, even more so if it was not in suburban-ville (lots of screaming kiddos – uggh).

Jamey–you rock! Thanks for sharing your experience :)

I clicked on this link and my husband, standing across the room, said, “Honey, it sounds like you just flushed your computer.”

  • Eddie G

    I love it :)

  • Jamey

Hmmm…care to speculate whether the vegan burger survives the name change to Meathead's ?

  • Eddie G

The new place doesn't even have a vegetarian burger…*barf*!
