pump_john-morganThe cold-front that finally made its way into DFW last night reminds us it’s time to start getting ready for Thanksgiving – which is just around the corner! With that, here’s your Thanksgiving guide to getting’ your eatin’ on without the cruelty – please let us know if we’ve missed anything and we’ll continue to update this page as we get more info.

 

Holiday meals to-go

Looking to share the holidays with your (not-so-veg) families, but don’t have time to cook an entirely separate meal? Check out these great take-home meal options!

 

Café Elite

Per their website, Café Elite is once again offering a complete Thanksgiving meal to go, including:

“Sauteed vegan chk’n (Gardein), sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy and cranberries for $12.99.”

This year, we give thanks for Good Karma Kitchen, the newest veg-truck to hit DFW. They’re offering gluten-free vegetarian* Thanksgiving meal options including:

Sides: Broccoli Rice Casserole, Green Bean Casserole, Savory Cherry and Herb Stuffing, Brown or Country Gravy
Fresh Cranberry and Blood Orange Relish

Desserts: Individual Chocolate Dream Cakes, Mile High Chocolate Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Bars, Macaroons

Spiral Diner

Get your Thanksgiving Fixin’s and Desserts from Spiral Diner this year.

What does that include? Glad you asked:

Fixin’s: Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, Sesame Glazed Green Beans, Whipped Coconut Sweet Potatoes, Garlic and Rosemary Mashed Potatoes, Mac n’ cheese, Cranberry Pecan Dressing, Country or Brown Gravy, Butternut-Fennel soup, and homemade yeast rolls.

Join Denton Vegan Cooperative at 6:00 p.m. at the Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (1111 Cordell St.) for a Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen – with plenty to eat, entertainment, and prizes.

Kalachandji’s

Join Kalachandji’s for their annual Thanksgiving dinner, with seating hours for lunch (11:30-3:00) and dinner (5:30-9:00) for $15.95 per person. Traditional menu items include Tofu-turkey & dressing, candied yams, cranberry sauce, as well as other Kalachandji’s favorites.

Thanksgiving Feast @ Hare Krishna Temple Sanctuary

At the same Hare Krishna Temple that houses Kalachandji’s, a Thanksgiving Feast in the main hall with similar menu to Kalachandji’s is available with proceeds to benefit the TKG Academy.

    Thankgiving feast at Kalachandji’s is amazing, there is also two options.  There is the restaurant and then there is the equally good feast that is served in the big hall in the adjacent building.  It is a fundraiser lunch that supports TKG Academy
